This topic is very near and dear to my heart because, during this pregnancy, I have found most music to be very, very irritating. Singers like Corinne Bailey Rae and Regina Spektor drive me batty these days. There's something about the sweetness of their voices and their innocent lyrics that irritate me. There are butterflies fluttering around on Corinne Bailey Rae's website, for crying out loud. I actually feel bad about being annoyed by Spektor, because I think she is quite talented, but I nearly got in a car wreck recently when I tried to listen to "That Time". And don't even get me started on the main chorus of "Fidelity".
Lately, I prefer hard-living women like Amy Winehouse and Storm Large. You know, women with baggage... and drinking problems.
My view is currently skewed so I wouldn't put too much weight in what I say, but a bunch of other people who may or may not have hormonal imbalances have weighed-in on what they think are the most irritating songs of all time. Actually, I think the list is more of a list of songs that people are embarrassed to say that they once liked, but now it's not cool to like any of them.
