Recently I mentioned how people in this town went nuts over the grand opening of the new IKEA furniture store. Jason and I enjoy IKEA (though not enough to camp out for 3 days before it opens), so we went first thing Monday morning to get some shelves and a whole bunch of other crap that we don't need. When we arrived, we got a parking place near the front entrance and the store was relatively quiet. That lasted for maybe 30 minutes, when we noticed that we were surrounded by people.
If you've been in IKEA, you know that you wander through a maze of furniture and knick-knacks and have to write down what you want and then retrieve it at the end of the maze. Well, this entire experience took us nearly 3 hours and guess what? I was in pain by the end. I felt like I was having terrible pre-menstrual cramps. I couldn't even bring myself to go into the packed cafeteria for some Swedish Meatballs. The morning at IKEA wiped me out for the entire day. I took a 3-hour nap in the afternoon and then was groggy and stumbling around the house for the rest of the day.
The photo in this post is me before I entered the store. I think I came out with horns and a pitchfork.
