The Moby wrap is great for moms like me whose babies like to sleep on them during the day. I don't want to deny Elliot the warmth of my body (and the closeness of mommy), so I wrap her up in the Moby and keep her close to my chest.
The Moby is an intimidating wrap. It's just one large piece of jersey material and its awesomeness still surprises me whenever I wrap it around my middle and over my shoulders. I put Elliot in a "Newborn Hug Hold", which puts her on my chest. There's also a "Cradle", or sling position that my husband likes to use. When she's older and has a stronger neck (probably at about 4 months), she can face forward and have her feet dangle. I have the feeling she'll like that, too. I have never used a Bjorn carrier, but I hear from other mamas that the Moby is much friendlier on the back than that darn Bjorn.
The only downside to this wrap is that I have to put the baby down to put it on. Most times, that means I risk waking a sleeping baby as I put her down to wrap myself up and then pick her up and stuff her in there. She generally won't go in the Moby if she's not sleeping (something I think will change when I can wear her in different positions).
The Moby costs approximately $35.

We have a bjorn and a hotsling ... love both. We use them for different things ... The bjorn doesn't bother my back if I have it tightened correctly, though that may change ...
The hotsling is sewn up, so no wrapping techniques to learn. But you have to order the right size ...
