Even before Elliot was born, I was searching for the perfect baby book. It was a search that sometimes got me frustrated because modern baby keepsake books are not what they used to be. Most of the books I saw were cartoon-ish. I also was very frustrated with the content of these new books. All of the books I saw had prompts such as "How Mommy felt when she found out she was pregnant" and that's just not my style. I know it works for some people, and that's great. But it is just a little too corny for me.
So, I was over the moon when I picked up a baby keepsake journal at Nordstrom and started thumbing through. It was exactly what I had in mind. No corny prompts, no cartoon characters. It was just a sophisticated and simple book. There are places to write the big events, such as first steps and first words. But mostly, there are pages for photos. And those pages are completely empty, except for a few lines to write a caption. That means I can put the photos in the book that are special to me and not make sure I get photos from "Baby's First Arbor Day". There are also dainty, acid-free envelopes in which to keep baby's birth certificate and hair from her first haircut.
The cover of the book is quite lovely, with satin ribbons in a woven pattern. Very classic. I've already filled out as much as I can and now I eagerly await Elliot's first laugh and first time she sits up, so I can record the memory in her beautiful book.
Nordstrom baby journal comes in pink and blue and costs $48.
Do they sell those in-store or only online? How were you able to see what the inside of the book looked like? Can you provide a sample page?
Nordstrom should pay you a commission!
Betty, I was able to look at it in the store. in the kids' section.

That sounds just like me! Wish I had found this baby book. I finally found one that was ok - there are prompts, but they aren't too annoying, and there aren't any cartoon images.
We were going to make our own, but that didn't pan out ... Maybe one day ...
