Cool Mom Picks has really outdone itself this time. A lot of parents--myself included--are worried about buying any toys that are Made In China. We know that those toys, which are quite possibly filled with lead, go straight into our kids' mouths.
The mamas over at Cool Mom Picks have created a Safer Toy Guide for the holiday season. It's full of "handcrafted, locally made, organic, fair trade or simply safer alternatives for younger children".
My personal favorites:
* Tool Rattle Set by Yellow Label
* Chacha Wooden Pull Toy by Djeco
* Bimba Scooter by Pastel Toys
* Red and Pink Xylophone by Tatiri
Many of the toys on the list are a little more expensive than you'd pay for, say, a baby rattle. But, how many rattles does baby need? And, isn't it great that you know the source of the toy and can feel at ease when that rattle goes straight into her mouth? This Christmas, less is more.
