Angelina Jolie gave birth to twins over the weekend, a boy and a girl. Now she and Brad Pitt have six children together.
The babies are named Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline.
According to Celebrity Baby Blog, Knox is a family name of Pitt's- it is his grandfather's middle name and Leon is the name of Angelina's great-great grandfather (and perhaps a nod to France, where the twins were born).
Vivienne means "life, alive" and is most likely a nod to her birthplace, while Marcheline is the name of Angelina's late mother.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt typically pick uncommon names for their children. All the boys' names end with 'X' - Maddox, Pax, and Knox. And the girls' names reflect their birthplaces - Zahara (Ethiopia), Shiloh (Namibia), and Vivienne (France).
I have to admit that I totally dig all the names of their kids. They're all so different- from each other and from mainstream, yet I find them all appealing. I like that they have have meaning and they all sound very strong (somehow I think that's Angelina's influence).
What do you think of the baby names?
I'm not a huge fan of the names but they are not too bad in the celebrity baby name world. I do have to say I like the the whole "x" thing they have going on. I do like the uniqueness and that they are not ridiculous names like a lot of celebrities use. I'm a HUGE fan of their oldest son's name, Maddox. It was on many of our baby name lists when we were deciding. We really liked it for a girl though.
Vivienne lucked out. Maddox did ok, but Vivienne totally won the name lottery in that family.
I so think that all the kids names are cute. My personal favorite is Zahara Marley. I thnk they did a great job wiht naming there kids, I hope to do the same.

Like you I think the names are strong and individual. They are also names that stick out, yet I don't know if they will become trendy or mainstream. What do you think?
